Why hosting media yourself is expensive and doesn’t provide valuable data

Webinars and webcasts have changed the concept of conferences that many businesses is questioning the wisdom of setting up an actual conference. Whether it is the launch of a new product, business idea discussions or technical seminars, businesses employ webinars to create online events to accommodate people from the corners of the world. With the availability of webinar services and webcast solutions all over the Internet, it is also easy to get the services of one.

It does not even require the person to actually be present in the seminar because the concept of recording webinars exists; this is similar to webcast recording. Recorded webinars can be archived for later use or distributed to people who can watch them at their own leisure, much like video webcasts.

Hosting webinar sessions or hosting recorded videos on your own website could be expensive because of many reasons, and moreover, the records of people who watch the video may not be analytically correct.

This is due to many reasons, the primary being the bandwidth of a website. Usually a specific data storage space and bandwidth are allocated for a website. Webinars require a lot of bandwidth which most websites lack with the basic plan that they have signed with the server company, and unless you have a decent webinar support or webcast support team, it would be hard to create virtual events of a larger specification.

It is commonly understood that multimedia files are larger in size than any other type of files; these need to be stored on your server if they are to be made available for public use. It is similar to the concept of webcasting where videos are uploaded to a website for public use. There is also the question of bandwidth which basically determines the number of simultaneous users on the website. Increasing the bandwidth and storage space of a website could involve in paying exorbitant fees to the server.

Online seminars require the use of a good webinar software application that webinar providers make use of to facilitate the various features. Webinar hosting is a professional task and takes a lot of expertise to be able to simulate the environment of a virtual conference hall.

Creation of online events and webcasting are arts that are gained through years of experience, and it would be wise to leave to professionals who have the relevant expertise and resources for it.
